La Maison Rouge Gallery

AS SEEN ON BBC2  ‘An Island Parish’

In 2008 Rosanne and Peter embarked on an ambitious self-build project to fulfil both of their artistic requirements.

Situated in the secluded north-west of Sark, La Maison Rouge is an open-plan timber framed building which was shipped to Sark from Toronto, Canada in three forty-foot containers!  Since its arrival in March 2008, Peter has had the unenviable task of putting it all together. Rosanne’s gallery is open again to the public in the spring, showing her latest sketches and paintings of Sark which can also be seen in the ‘original work  for sale’ section of this website.

Peter Gabriel Byrne is a singer songwriter and La Maison Rouge has facilities for recording and editing live music.  There are two en-suite rooms available on a bed and breakfast basis in the guest wing of the house where artists and musicians will be able to stay and work.  Artists will be welcome to use the large studio space which has floor to ceiling glass to give the best available natural light and musicians have use of  a pro tools setup.  For beginners, Rosanne is running watercolour painting holidays at La Maison Rouge for individuals or small groups.
