dolphins and swallows

Well, what a great couple of days.  Yesterday while I was up on the Hog’s Back looking out towards Jersey, a dolphin broke the surface quite a way out past the Conchee rock and I’m sure I spotted a few more but it was hard to tell being so far away.  Also flying in low over our heads were the first swallows of the year (for me anyway).

Today saw more showery conditions with wonderful light and dramatic clouds, so I grabbed half an hour before the rain came and cycled up to the monument. The gorse is starting to flower and the birds are busying themselves. Managed to get a quick watercolour done before the rain came down. Fantastic light on the puddles in the lanes.
