The time has come for planting the crops and there are newly planted fields all across the island. This evening I sat in the field below home and sketched quickly as David Curtis got his spuds in, watched by his dog and plenty of gulls picking in the furrows. I haven’t had the time to paint for a while but there has been a lot of activity though with the sound of the cuckoo, the Peregrine on her nest again and a lone Golden Plover in a field over by the Gouliot headland. The hedgerows are full with wild flowers and the bluebells are just coming to their best.
