The sun was out this afternoon, and so were the butterflies.  Saw several Green Hairstreaks whirling around the blackthorn bushes.  Also loads of insects flying around which the swallows were busily picking up.  Noticing plenty of nests of the Brown-tail Moth caterpillar, in Guernsey there are also problems at the moment with infestations of these which cause a painful rash if you come into contact with the hairs.

On the lane back up to the ‘heart’ I saw Common Blue, Speckled Wood and Small Copper.  Also a lovely display and song from at least one pair of Whitethroat.
