The first visit to Sark by ANF’s founder and director Ysbrand Brouwers and filmmaker Hans Rademakers was a great success. From 17th May, four full days were spent cycling and walking around Little and Big Sark and Hans filmed the wild flowers and birds, the stunning cliffs and beaches and the Sark people . On Tuesday 18th there was an open meeting in the Island Hall to explain about the work of the ANF and to show films and books from previous projects. Ysbrand invited questions from people wishing to know more about the planned Sark project and there was a real sense of excitement and interest. On Thursday, Ysbrand was invited to talk to all the Sark school children and next week headteacher Mrs Cottle will be showing a film from a project based in Israel. On his return to the Netherlands, Ysbrand will be planning the Sark project in more detail and Hans will be editing his footage to make a promotional DVD. More details on this will be posted on this blog in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone for making them feel so welcome, they thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
