'White Christmas' at The Greenhouse

Opens Friday 19th NovemberCommissioner and artist Eric Snell is curating the next exhibition in the greenhouse. He asked artists, architects, photographers and designers from around the world, whom he has worked with this year, to make an artwork based on ‘White Christmas’. Each invitee received in the post a small 5 inch square primed canvas as a catalyst for the realisation of an idea associated with this theme. The finished work was to be no bigger than 180mm x 180mm x 180mm and there was just one month allowed for its completion and return to the Guernsey Arts Commission. The exhibition White Christmas showcases the numerous ‘solutions’ that were created and is an exciting snapshot of the variety of current practice being explored in the visual arts. The GAC exhibition in the greenhouse runs until 15th January 2011: more information on

‘Christmas comes to Sark’ by Rosanne Guille is one of the pieces being exhibited
